We are organising a clean up of our Borough entitled : Going for Gold! in preparation for the Olympic Torch Relay going through Gosport.
We will encourage residents, businesses and organisations across Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent to get outside at 12noon on Saturday 14th July and tidy up outside their properties.
Our local Litteraction groups ( www.litteraction.org.uk) will organise a clean up of the actual route which will be used for the Torch.
The legacy we aspire to is that residents will adopt the road in which they live and that individual residents, businesses and organisations will also adopt parks, open spaces and local beaches.
We hope this will also encourage residents to set up other local Litteraction groups across our Borough and also join those that we already have.
This is also being carried out under the banner of 'Love Where You Live' - a Keep Britain Tidy campaign.
