How to find your Naval Ancestors - A Day Long Event - 3rd February

The event starts at 10am in the Discovery Centre with talks to 4:30pm and the Naval collection wil be open to 7pm and a visit to The Submarine Museum.The cost for the day is £20 booking 023 9252 3463.

This event aims to reveal the many types of record, from different collections, which throw light on the careers of your naval ancestors: what they did, where they served, what life was like on board Navy and Merchant Navy ships, and in submarines.

There will be a combination of talks and visits during the day. Illustrated talks will cover the records you can find and use at The National Archives, The Royal Navy Submarine Museum, The Royal Marines Museum and Gosport Discovery Centre.
In the afternoon, there will be a visit to The Royal Navy Submarine Museum (included in the cost for the day), and the Naval Special Collection at Gosport Discovery Centre will be available for browsing and research until 7pm.

        The Discovery Centre is open until 7pm, so visitors are welcome to stay and browse the Naval Special Collection or visit the café. (The Bookworm Café is open until 5.30pm)
